County Road Stabilization Project Using Nanotechnology

This document is a project summary detailing the collaboration between the Public Works Department and Midwest to enhance unpaved county roads in Oregon. The initiative was aimed at addressing the challenges posed by heavy agricultural traffic and limited maintenance resources. Midwest employed advanced polymer technology to stabilize the road, achieving a significant increase in load-bearing capacity by 140%, while also reducing maintenance needs by over 90%. The project involved placing a layer of base course aggregate and utilizing Midwest's Soil Sement Engineered Formula® for stabilization. Independent engineering evaluations confirmed the road's enhanced strength, which was maintained through freeze-thaw cycles. The outcomes included improved durability, reduced dust emissions, and better safety for rural communities.
