Independent Performance Verification of EK35® Dust Control

This technical report compiles independent performance and test results for EK35®, a synthetic fluid used for dust control and stabilization in road construction. The report includes findings from various institutions, including the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. It details the mechanical properties of roads treated with EK35®, focusing on freeze-thaw durability and aggregate adherence. The freeze-thaw durability testing involved subjecting EK35®-stabilized aggregates to controlled freeze-thaw cycles, demonstrating that the material maintained its mechanical performance and resistance to permanent deformation. Additionally, the report outlines the Rolling Bottle Test, which assessed the adhesion and water resistance of EK35®-coated aggregates, confirming its effectiveness in preventing moisture-driven stripping. These findings support the applicability of EK35® in cold-region environments, where freeze-thaw cycles pose significant challenges to road durability.
