This case study details the development of a medical device designed for fetal-maternal monitoring, which supports 32-channel analog input data for processing and displaying real-time ECG data on tablets or PCs. The objective was to create a device that integrates signal acquisition and processing for electrophysiological medical applications. The hardware solution includes a DSP-based Bio-Medical Board and a programmable Control Module. The GUI application is compatible with Windows 7 and touch-based interfaces, enabling seamless operation on Intel i7 tablets. Mistral was responsible for developing the hardware and integrating signal processing algorithms into the application framework. The device processes raw analog input, converts it to digital data, and applies ECG algorithms to extract maternal and fetal metrics. The project faced challenges such as ensuring real-time data processing without loss and meeting tight development timelines. Mistral's expertise in embedded design services facilitated the quick delivery of the product to market.
