Head-mounted Wearable Accessory for Mobile Devices

This case study presents Mistral's development of a head-mounted wearable accessory designed to function as a smartphone companion. The device incorporates advanced features such as voice activation, gesture control, and a high-resolution camera, aimed at enhancing hands-free operation across various applications including warehouse management and field service. Mistral has leveraged over a decade of expertise in the wearable domain to conceptualize and design this low-power, small form factor device. The study details the requirements set by the customer, including the integration of a micro-display and noise cancellation technology, and outlines the solution provided, which includes a custom camera application and a video conferencing application based on the Zoom SDK. Key achievements include the successful miniaturization of components and the development of comprehensive firmware and software for mass production.
