This case study details the design and development of a high-speed recording solution by Mistral, featuring a PC-based system with 4-channel, 14-bit data conversion resolution and recording speeds of up to 128X. The objective was to create a compatible audio recording system that could interface with various slave recorders. The solution includes a configurable counter for recording duplications, remote start/stop control, and custom hardware logic for timing parameters. The system also incorporates on-board memory for continuous data streaming and auto-filter bank selection based on recording speed. Challenges included achieving low-latency data transfers and maintaining high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) across multiple recording speeds. The case study highlights Mistral's innovative approach to address these challenges, resulting in a customizable solution that meets the client's audio recording needs while reducing overall system costs.
