This case study details the implementation of Mongoose’s Conversation Intelligence solution at Gateway Technical College, aimed at improving student engagement and enrollment outcomes. The college faced challenges in connecting with students effectively, particularly non-traditional learners who often paused or abandoned the enrollment process due to unanswered questions. To address this, Gateway adopted a texting-first strategy across various departments, allowing staff to send personalized messages based on students' needs and stages in the enrollment funnel. The integration of Mongoose has led to significant improvements, including reduced student frustration, lower cancellation rates, and higher enrollment progression. The study highlights that students who engaged in text conversations were more likely to enroll, with a notable increase in enrollment rates for those who had multiple interactions. The college plans to further enhance communication strategies by expanding the use of shared inboxes and exploring additional functionalities for real-time support.
