This case study details the implementation of Mongoose's Conversation Intelligence Platform by the University of Notre Dame's Online Master’s in Data Science program. The program faced challenges such as email overload and low engagement rates among prospective students. To address these issues, the team shifted from traditional long-form emails to concise, personalized text messages, enhancing communication and fostering human connections. The results were significant, with enrollment increasing from 25 students in 2023 to 46 in 2025. The case study outlines how the platform supported various communication needs, including admissions, student success, and alumni engagement. The team utilized segmentation to tailor messages around key moments, leading to improved attendance at information sessions and higher application completion rates. The study concludes with future plans to expand the use of texting across all student lifecycle stages and enhance alumni engagement, demonstrating the effectiveness of Mongoose in driving enrollment and building relationships.
