Mphasis F1 Foundation CSR Initiative Impact Assessment Report

This impact assessment report evaluates the Mphasis F1 Foundation's CSR initiative, which integrates solar electrification and education sponsorship at SOS Children's Village Bhimtal, Uttarakhand. The initiative involved the installation of a 130KW grid-tie solar system and educational support for 168 children across six SOS villages, addressing barriers to infrastructure and educational access. The assessment utilized mixed-methods evaluation, employing OECD-DAC criteria and Theory of Change frameworks, with data collected through surveys, focus group discussions, and interviews. Key findings indicate significant improvements in power reliability, with evening study time power cuts reduced from 98.3% to 38.3%. The initiative also achieved 100% first division results in board examinations among sponsored children. Furthermore, the project demonstrated environmental benefits, including a reduction of 84.83 metric tons of CO2 emissions. The report outlines recommendations for enhancing maintenance capacity and developing an alumni network to support current beneficiaries, emphasizing the importance of integrating energy access with educational support.
