This case study discusses the implementation of the HAIMER Shrink Fit System at Quality On Time Machining (QOTM), an aerospace machining company. Founded in 1996, QOTM expanded its operations over the years, increasing its CNC machines to 14 and producing significant amounts of titanium and aluminum. However, the company faced challenges with production efficiency, including decreased runout accuracy and increased tool pullout rates. After testing various toolholders, QOTM identified HAIMER as a superior solution, particularly for titanium machining. The HAIMER toolholders provided improved rigidity and clamping, addressing the issues of tool life and surface finish quality. The adoption of HAIMER's shrink fit technology allowed for enhanced clamping and accuracy, resulting in immediate returns on investment. The case study illustrates how the integration of advanced toolholding technology can lead to significant improvements in productivity and reduced scrap rates in machining operations.
