This case study presents the Cyber Security Strategy developed for East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust (ESNEFT). The Trust, formed on July 1, 2018, provides essential hospital and community health care services and recognized the need for a strategic approach to enhance its cyber resilience. With a dedicated Digital, Data & Technology team, the Trust aimed to align its cyber security efforts with evolving compliance requirements and national strategies. The strategy focuses on safeguarding sensitive data and systems while ensuring all staff understand their responsibilities in maintaining security. The collaboration with MTI aims to develop a comprehensive Cyber Resilience Strategy that incorporates both top-down and ground-up approaches, facilitating a structured plan to achieve cyber security objectives. Key outcomes include the establishment of a Traceability Matrix to clarify roles and responsibilities and a detailed evaluation of existing security measures to inform future strategies. This strategy positions ESNEFT to proactively address cyber threats over the coming years.
