This case study outlines the implementation of a Privileged Access Management (PAM) system for a government department that faced vulnerabilities to cyberattacks. An independent NIST risk assessment identified the need for a robust response to threats from both external attackers and malicious insiders targeting privileged accounts. The organization experienced a loss of control over its PAM due to various factors, including poorly integrated technology and high user turnover. MTI collaborated with the department's Security & Operations team to design, build, and implement a tailored PAM solution. This involved a holistic approach that addressed organizational, technical, and human elements of the PAM challenges. The implemented solution included features such as automated password management and user training to enhance security and compliance. The case study also highlights the partnership with CyberArk and the benefits of the customized PAM system, including reduced threats and increased competency within the organization.
