This technical report quantifies the economic contributions of US liquefied natural gas (LNG) exports for the National Association of Manufacturers. It provides a historical and prospective analysis of the economic impact of LNG exports, focusing on employment, labor income, GDP, and tax revenues. The report outlines that in 2023, the LNG export sector supported approximately 222,450 jobs, contributing $23.2 billion in labor income and $43.8 billion to the US GDP. Additionally, it generated $11.0 billion in tax and royalty revenues. Looking ahead to 2044, projections indicate that under the Reference case, the sector could support around 516,000 jobs and contribute $122.5 billion to GDP, while the High Growth case suggests potential support for over 900,000 jobs and a GDP contribution of $215.7 billion. The report also details the domestic value chain of LNG exports, including exploration, production, transportation, and liquefaction processes.
