Rural Haat Project for Women Empowerment

This document is a project report detailing the Rural Haat initiative at Palin, Kra Daadi, implemented by the Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission (ArSRLM). The project, sanctioned in 2023 with a total financial outlay of ₹1.6 million, aims to empower local women and enhance their financial independence by providing a platform for them to sell their natural produce and handicrafts directly to consumers. The report outlines the challenges faced by local producers, including reliance on middlemen and limited employment opportunities for self-help group (SHG) members. It describes the strategies employed to activate Producer Groups and facilitate market access, resulting in significant impacts such as the involvement of 20 vendors, benefits to 60 SHGs, and the empowerment of 560 women. The initiative has also created jobs and established marketing collaborations, contributing to the promotion of traditional crafts and the overall economic transformation of the local community.
