This technical report presents the findings of a quasi-experimental study conducted by LearnPlatform for Nearpod, aimed at examining the impact of Nearpod on student learning outcomes during the 2022-23 school year. The study involved 6,087 students from 25 schools in a California K-12 district, focusing on grades 4 through 8. Researchers utilized California state summative assessment data from spring 2022 and spring 2023 to evaluate the effectiveness of Nearpod. The report details student usage metrics, revealing that students engaged with Nearpod for an average of 7.2 active weeks and participated in an average of 16 session launches. The findings indicate that grade 5 students on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and grade 8 students showed higher English Language Arts (ELA) achievement when using Nearpod compared to their peers. Additionally, grade 6 and grade 8 students demonstrated improved math outcomes. The study meets the Level II evidence requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), confirming its methodological rigor.
