Modernization of Housing Service Delivery in Pompano Beach

This document is a case study detailing the efforts of the City of Pompano Beach’s Office of Housing and Urban Improvement (OHUI) to modernize its service delivery. The objective was to enhance program compliance while reducing administrative expenses. The challenges faced included managing various housing programs and the inefficiencies associated with paper applications and Excel spreadsheets. By partnering with Neighborly Software, OHUI implemented a workflow system that automates compliance steps and reporting requirements. Key results included a significant reduction in administrative expenses related to paper and document storage, a decrease in the time required to produce compliance reports, and a reduction in personnel costs. The software solution also improved the efficiency of processing reimbursement requests for subrecipients and contractors. Overall, the modernization efforts have led to enhanced compliance and more effective allocation of resources towards housing and community development programs.
