This case study details the collaboration between a Canadian manufacturer of natural gas technologies and NewStream Enterprises, LLC (NSE) to enhance supply chain management in the United States. Initially, the manufacturer managed all warehousing, kitting, and distribution services internally, resulting in an on-time delivery rate of only 65%. Recognizing the need to concentrate on its manufacturing core competency, the manufacturer opted to outsource these supply chain functions to NSE. By the end of 2014, the transition of product handling to NSE was completed, and services commenced in early 2015. Within a year, the partnership led to a significant improvement, raising the on-time delivery metric to 98%. The case study outlines the challenges faced by the manufacturer and the effective solutions provided by NSE, including warehousing, kitting, inspections, packaging, and distribution services. NSE continues to support the manufacturer with various supply chain solutions, demonstrating the effectiveness of outsourcing operational tasks to enhance service delivery.
