This research article presents a detailed exploration of critical enabling conditions required to achieve a net-zero climate resilient development pathway in four ASEAN member states: Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. It identifies the objectives and challenges of synergizing mitigation and adaptation in the context of these countries, which have varying levels of development status regarding climate change policies. The study discusses long-term strategies and goals set by these nations while emphasizing the importance of integrating mitigation and adaptation efforts. It includes evaluations of climate goals, projected greenhouse gas emission pathways, and the role of Integrated Assessment Models in shaping climate policies. Additionally, the article outlines existing synergies and gaps in policy targets across the selected countries, highlighting the need for enhanced science-policy interconnections to support effective climate action. This research contributes to a better understanding of how to navigate the complexities of climate resilience and net-zero transitions.
