Nlyte Energy Optimizer Implementation in Data Centers

This case study outlines the implementation of the Nlyte Energy Optimizer software solution by a managed cloud provider to enhance energy efficiency in its data center. The objective was to raise the ambient temperature in accordance with ASHRAE guidelines while reducing energy costs and maintaining service level agreements (SLAs) for tenants. The software provides real-time thermal monitoring, allowing tenants to access their specific power usage data, temperature, and humidity levels. The implementation resulted in a gradual temperature increase of 9°F over six months, leading to significant energy savings of 2.3 GWh and a reduction in power costs by $285,120 USD. The case study details how the solution enabled the provider to balance cost savings with tenant comfort, ultimately improving operational efficiency without compromising reliability. The positive outcomes included enhanced tenant satisfaction and the ability to attract new clients with competitive pricing.
