This case study outlines General Electric's (GE) transition from traditional leadership training at Crotonville to a digital learning platform named BrilliantYOU. Established in 1956, Crotonville was pivotal in developing high-quality managers, but with a global workforce of 285,000 employees, only a fraction could participate in its programs. To address this limitation, GE launched BrilliantYOU in 2016, aiming to provide a comprehensive online learning experience that replicates the classroom environment. The platform offers over 40 courses, including content from prestigious institutions like UVA's Darden School of Business and Stanford University. GE selected NovoEd as their learning delivery platform due to its ability to foster engagement and collaboration among learners. The implementation of BrilliantYOU has significantly increased engagement rates, allowing thousands of learners to access diverse learning experiences weekly. The GE learning team emphasizes the importance of maintaining meaningful connections in a digital setting while ensuring the platform meets the varied needs of its global workforce.
