Action Plan for Biodiversity in Latin America

This document is a technical report detailing the collaborative project between NTT DATA and the Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean (CAF) aimed at addressing biodiversity loss in strategic ecosystems across Latin America. The report outlines the business need for sustainable development and the urgent need to protect biodiversity in the region, which is known for its rich ecosystems. It describes the two-phase project, which involved extensive research, including interviews and focus groups with over 70 participants, and the analysis of 220 public data sources. The outcome of the project includes 14 ecosystem reports that provide costed solutions for protecting these areas, along with a platform tool designed to inform decision-making regarding biodiversity investments. The report also highlights the financial requirements for each ecosystem and identifies potential funding sources to support the implementation of the proposed actions, ultimately aiming to improve the quality of life for local communities and promote sustainable growth.
