Advancing Responsible AI Innovation Playbook

This document is a playbook focused on advancing responsible artificial intelligence (AI) innovation, published by the World Economic Forum in collaboration with Accenture. It outlines the importance of responsible AI practices, which aim to maximize benefits while minimizing risks to individuals, society, and the environment. The playbook identifies a significant gap in the operationalization of responsible AI across organizations, with less than 1% fully implementing these practices. It provides nine essential plays divided into three dimensions: strategy and value creation, governance and accountability, and development and use. Each play offers actions for both organizational and government leaders to overcome internal and external challenges. The playbook emphasizes the need for collaboration among stakeholders to build resilient governance systems that enable AI innovation while fostering public trust. By following this flexible framework, organizations can adapt their responsible AI strategies to their specific contexts and maturity levels, turning responsible AI from aspiration into a competitive advantage.
