DDoS Protection Services for Eurovision Song Contest

This document is a case study detailing the partnership between ITS Technology Group and NTT DATA during the Eurovision Song Contest held in May 2023 in Liverpool. The case study outlines how ITS, a UK provider of high-bandwidth connectivity, was selected to support the event using its Faster Britain full-fiber network. The document explains the critical need for robust security measures due to previous hacking attempts during the contest. It describes the rapid deployment of DDoS Protection Services (DPS) to ensure a secure broadcast, highlighting the collaboration between ITS, NTT DATA, and the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre. The case study further details the proactive measures taken, including the use of the DPS Max service, which provided comprehensive cyber defense.
