This case study outlines the communication modernization efforts of one of the largest public school districts in the United States, which serves over 190,000 students across more than 300 schools. The district aimed to upgrade its outdated analog phone systems to a new Mitel IP solution while facing significant budget constraints and infrastructure challenges. Traditional network upgrades were deemed too costly and complex due to the age of the facilities. The reseller partner, C1, proposed the NVT Phybridge PoLRE switch innovation, which allowed the district to utilize existing voice infrastructure to deploy over 20,000 new IP phones without the need for disruptive construction. The project resulted in savings of over $10 million, minimized deployment complexity, and aligned with the district's sustainability goals by preventing significant electronic waste. The case study highlights the successful transition to IP telephony and the benefits of leveraging innovative network solutions in an educational environment.
