This technical report presents findings from a linking study conducted by NWEA to predict student performance on the Nevada Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (NV SBAC) summative assessments for grades 3-8 in English language arts/literacy (ELA) and mathematics. The study utilized Spring 2019 data to establish Rasch Unit (RIT) cut scores on the MAP Growth assessments that correspond to NV SBAC achievement levels. The updated linking study incorporates the 2025 NWEA MAP Growth norms, allowing educators to identify students at risk of not meeting proficiency standards early in the academic year. The report details the methodology, including data collection and statistical techniques used to derive cut scores, and provides a comprehensive analysis of the study sample demographics. Additionally, it outlines the strong correlations between MAP Growth RIT scores and NV SBAC scores, supporting the validity of MAP Growth as a predictor for student achievement on state assessments.
