This case study outlines the collaboration between OASIS Group and 2dA to digitise the National Archives of the Netherlands' 'War in Court' project, which involves the preservation and digitisation of approximately 32 million records, including sensitive documents from the Central Archive of Special Jurisdiction (CABR). The project aims to scan around 12 million documents, many of which are fragile, requiring careful handling. The CABR contains significant historical records related to post-World War II legal proceedings against Dutch citizens accused of collaboration and treason. The digitisation process is set to conclude in 2027, with a significant portion expected to be accessible online by 2025. This initiative not only preserves cultural heritage but also enhances accessibility, allowing individuals worldwide to engage with historical documents, thereby contributing to a broader understanding of shared history. The project employs advanced technologies, including AI and OCR, to facilitate easy searching and retrieval of information.
