This case study outlines the disaster recovery challenges faced by The Maids, a prominent residential cleaning company operating in the U.S. and Canada. The Maids manages a significant amount of operational data across more than 160 franchise locations, which necessitated a robust backup solution. Traditional tape backups were inadequate, often failing and only providing weekly data replication. In response, The Maids sought a more efficient and cost-effective solution, leading to the adoption of Opti9's Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) powered by Veeam. The solution enabled the rapid deployment of an offsite Virtual Machine datastore without the need for costly hardware. Key features included same-day provisioning, efficient VM backups, and end-to-end encryption, ensuring data security. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in business continuity, providing The Maids with a reliable and secure backup solution that alleviated their operational burdens.
