This case study details the technological transformation undertaken by the Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency (CIRSA) to modernize its claims system. CIRSA faced challenges with its legacy technology, which lacked flexibility, speed, and automation capabilities. The organization sought a centralized system to automate claims reporting and provide real-time loss information to its members. In partnership with Origami Risk, CIRSA implemented solutions that improved member support through enhanced claim reporting tools and workflows. The transformation included expanded web and mobile access, automated premium allocation, and efficient claims access for internal teams. The case study outlines the successful collaboration between CIRSA and Origami, highlighting the development of algorithms for complex calculations and the creation of a portal for real-time claims data access. As a result of these improvements, CIRSA plans to further expand its use of the RMIS to drive down total costs of risk in the future.
