Centralized Telemetry System Implementation for Uisce Éireann

This document is a technical report detailing the implementation of a centralized telemetry system for Uisce Éireann, formerly known as Irish Water. The report outlines the challenges faced during the major reform of water services in the Republic of Ireland, which transitioned from a local authority structure to a single national utility. The National Telemetry Programme aims to standardize asset monitoring and integrate previously separate systems, enabling remote monitoring and management of over 2,000 water and wastewater assets. The SCOPE SCADA telemetry solution, developed by Ovarro, was selected to provide operational oversight and management, including supply, treatment, and leakage detection. The system complies with the IEC62443 cybersecurity standard and facilitates communication with legacy systems. The report emphasizes the operational improvements expected from the new telemetry system, which will enhance incident management, strategic planning, and overall asset performance for Uisce Éireann.
