Stormwater Management System Implementation for FIFA World Cup

This document is a technical report detailing the implementation of a stormwater management system by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal) in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The report outlines the challenges faced by Ashghal in deploying a robust stormwater management system within a tight deadline of less than two months. It describes the collaboration between Ashghal, an operation and maintenance contractor, and Ovarro, the original equipment manufacturer. The deployment covered 70 key locations, including stadiums and populous areas, utilizing Ovarro's TBox LT2 Remote Telemetry Unit (RTU) for real-time monitoring. The TBox LT2 improved visibility of drainage assets and facilitated a transition from a manual-based system to a smart monitoring solution. The report highlights the operational benefits of the TBox LT2, including its cybersecurity features, efficient installation, and real-time access to vital parameters, ensuring the system's readiness for the tournament.
