Telemetry Solution for Broadcast Reliability Enhancement

This document is a technical report detailing the implementation of a telemetry solution aimed at enhancing broadcast reliability for Sydney's Harbour Media, which hosts multiple radio stations. The report outlines the challenges faced by Tabcorp in maintaining uninterrupted service across various transmitter sites and presents the solution involving Ovarro's TBox and Kingfisher RTU systems. The primary objective of the project was to minimize downtime at the transmitter site, particularly during adverse weather conditions such as lightning storms. The TBox system provides real-time alerts via SMS and email, allowing technicians to monitor critical aspects of transmitter performance, audio status, and environmental conditions. The report also describes the collaboration between Tabcorp, Ovarro, and Kordia in constructing and managing the site. The successful integration of these systems has resulted in a robust and customizable telemetry solution that ensures continuous operation, with both systems functioning effectively for over seven years.
