Accelerating Proposal Responses with Secure Generative AI

This document is a case study detailing the deployment of a secure generative AI solution by Koniag Government Services (KGS) for a mid-sized Federal Government contractor. The contractor faced challenges with slow and labor-intensive proposal response processes, often requiring significant staff resources and time. The KGS team implemented a private instance of its generative AI platform within the customer's AWS environment to streamline the process. The solution utilized key AWS services, including Amazon Bedrock, Amazon S3, and Amazon Aurora, to enhance proposal generation through Retrieval-Augmented Generation techniques. The implementation involved creating a knowledge base from historical responses and ensuring data security through role-based access controls. As a result, the time required for initial draft proposals was reduced from several weeks to under three hours, achieving a 95% time savings and an 80% reduction in staff hours per proposal. This solution has become integral to the customer's proposal and business development strategy.
