This document is a case study detailing the implementation of intelligent automation to enhance government acquisition processes for a large Federal Government agency. The agency aimed to leverage emerging technologies to improve mission effectiveness and operational efficiencies by shifting from low-value compliance tasks to high-value business outcomes. The Koniag Government Services (KGS) team developed a bot that automates the assessment of vendor responsibility, significantly reducing the time required from one hour to two minutes per task. This automation is projected to save approximately 13 days annually for each of the 7,000 contracting professionals involved. KGS implemented various automation solutions using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), integrating tools from multiple Independent Software Vendors. The results indicate substantial savings of over $37 million per year and a reduction of 687,000 hours of work, equating to the productivity of 330 full-time employees. The solutions have also been adopted by other government entities.
