This guide outlines the distinctions between templates, policies, and bulk operations within the Pandora FMS environment. Templates are utilized for the straightforward creation of Remote Modules, allowing users to apply a standard set of modules to agents without altering existing ones. Changes to templates only take effect upon reapplication. Policies, on the other hand, facilitate the management of numerous agents by encompassing all necessary information for creating, deleting, and modifying monitoring elements, including modules and alerts. They enable simultaneous updates across multiple agents. Lastly, bulk operations provide a means to instantly manage various components of Pandora FMS without the need for predefined configurations, allowing for immediate changes across a large number of agents or alerts. Each tool serves specific purposes and is applicable in different scenarios, ensuring efficient management of monitoring tasks.
