This document is a study evaluating the effectiveness of the Dynamic Study Module (DSM) and quiz scores in the Business Communications course at Elgin Community College. The study was conducted by Linda Conniff, an Associate Professor, and results were reported by Candace Cooney, a Pearson Customer Outcomes Analytics Manager. Key findings indicate that students who scored above the median on the DSM achieved significantly higher quiz scores compared to those below the median. The data also show a strong correlation between DSM scores and quiz scores, as well as MyLab homework scores. Additionally, 87 percent of students agreed that the test-learn-retest pattern of the DSM helped them retain important chapter content. The study highlights the demographics of the college, course structure, and the implementation of digital access to course materials, which aims to enhance student engagement and performance. The document outlines the various assignments and teaching methodologies employed to foster learning and improve student outcomes.
