This technical report presents a numerical model developed for predicting wellbore and cement slurry temperatures during the pull-out-of-hole (POOH) process in cementing operations. The model addresses the transient heat transfer between wellbore fluids, the work string, and the formation, enhancing existing 2D models that typically assume a stationary pipe string. The report details the mathematical and numerical principles behind the model and includes case studies that analyze the impact of various parameters, such as pipe diameter, fluid viscosity, well inclination, and pulling velocity, on cement temperature. The findings indicate that these factors significantly influence the thermal behavior during cementing jobs. The report also compares two plug cementing techniques: balanced plug and 'pump and pull', providing insights into their respective thermal dynamics. This comprehensive approach aims to improve the accuracy of temperature predictions in cementing applications, which is critical for the success of cement jobs.
