This case study details the emergency workforce mobilization efforts undertaken by PeopleReady in response to a catastrophic fire at a waste facility in Southeast Michigan. The incident necessitated a full shutdown of operations, requiring the rerouting of materials to a sister facility and creating an urgent need for labor. The customer faced the challenge of sourcing 35 qualified associates within a tight timeframe of 72 hours across two shifts while ensuring compliance with operational standards. PeopleReady activated its on-demand staffing network and JobStack platform to efficiently source and dispatch qualified workers. The mobilization was successful, achieving a 100% fill rate and deploying a total of 140 associates to the site. The partnership evolved into a long-term collaboration, with ongoing workforce planning and management to support the facility's multi-year rebuild. The results included meeting all compliance requirements and converting several associates to full-time positions, demonstrating the effectiveness of the staffing solution in maintaining operational continuity.
