This case study documents the challenges faced by Pearson Lanka, a leading education company in Sri Lanka, in managing its HR operations. The organization experienced complications due to the use of disconnected, manual Microsoft Office applications for HR activities, leading to data duplication and inefficiencies. With a rapid recruitment phase initiated in 2013, Pearson Lanka sought to streamline its recruitment process and improve attendance tracking. After evaluating various HRIS vendors, they selected PeoplesHR for its maturity and innovative solutions. The implementation of PeoplesHR involved a phased approach, beginning with the Employee Information Manager and Time & Attendance modules, followed by the recruitment module. This transition was supported by training programs to ensure effective use of the system. The case study outlines how PeoplesHR enabled Pearson Lanka to automate HR functions, standardize recruitment processes, and improve employee satisfaction through systematic leave management. Overall, Pearson Lanka achieved enhanced productivity and reduced operational costs through this transformation.
