This case study details the implementation of a disaster recovery solution for a leading Indian multinational private sector bank, focusing on the orchestration of application recovery across 280 applications. The bank faced challenges such as the absence of a disaster recovery plan, difficulties in managing a complex IT infrastructure, and a lack of visibility into disaster recovery readiness. The solution involved the deployment of Continuity Patrol™, which automated disaster recovery processes and improved recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO) by over 50%. The study outlines the integration of various technologies, including a four-eye principal for authentication, and the successful configuration of applications running on multiple virtual machines and operating systems. Additionally, it highlights the achievement of ISO 22301 standard compliance for disaster recovery drills and the optimization of total cost of ownership (TCO) through reduced resource dependency. The results indicate significant improvements in application availability and operational efficiency.
