This document is a case study detailing the implementation of an IT Disaster Recovery (ITDR) process automation at the General Administration of Customs (ADCA) in Abu Dhabi. The case study outlines the challenges faced by ADCA, particularly the lack of expertise and limited resources in managing ITDR policies and procedures. It describes the consulting activities undertaken to develop an ITDR framework, including business impact analysis (BIA), risk assessment, and recovery strategies. The project scope expanded from 30 to 70 applications due to interdependencies identified during discussions with the IT Director. The automation was achieved using Perpetuuiti's Continuity Vault (CV), which streamlined the management of disaster recovery plans and enhanced reporting capabilities. Key outcomes include significant reductions in implementation time and ongoing administrative efforts, as well as the establishment of a defined organizational hierarchy that adapts to changes over time. The document concludes with the benefits of the automated ITDR process for ADCA's operational resilience.
