This case study details the implementation of a Business Service Availability Management and Process Automation solution for a major telecommunications client. The client, a publicly held company with over 350 million customers globally, sought a reliable solution to enhance service availability and reduce operational costs. The deployed solution, Continuity Patrol™, provided real-time visibility into business service continuity and enabled significant improvements in recovery time objectives (RTO) and recovery point objectives (RPO). Key metrics included a 70% reduction in bandwidth and storage costs, achieving an RPO of 2 hours and an RTO of 30 minutes. The solution integrated IBM Global Mirror and Oracle Log shipping, ensuring minimal impact on production server performance while automating processes and workflows. The case study outlines the benefits of improved application availability, reduced dependency on subject matter experts, and enhanced transparency regarding recovery health through automated reporting. The client endorsed Continuity Patrol as a best practice for recovery automation.
