This document is a case study detailing the partnership between Four Diamonds at Penn State Children’s Hospital and Personify to develop the FTK® Nation online community. The objective of this initiative was to enhance support and engagement for Mini-THON student volunteers and advisors while increasing fundraising capabilities beyond traditional in-person events. The FTK® Nation community serves as a platform for over 90,000 student volunteers from more than 290 schools, facilitating collaboration, sharing of best practices, and fundraising ideas. The case study outlines the significant impact of the FTK® Nation community, reporting a 5.5x increase in fundraising results for participants engaged in the community compared to those who were not. Additionally, it highlights the development of user experience pathways designed to cater to the digital-native audience of student users, ensuring high engagement levels. The document emphasizes the importance of digital-centric outreach and the ongoing support provided by Personify to maintain a vibrant community that underpins the success of the Mini-THON program.
