This case study outlines the collaboration between the PPD Evidera Real-World Data and Scientific Solutions team at Thermo Fisher Scientific and Alimetry to facilitate market access for Gastric Alimetry in the UK. The objective was to demonstrate the technology's effectiveness in reducing diagnosis time and hospital resource utilization to gain acceptance from the National Health Service (NHS). The study highlights various challenges faced, including navigating NHS procurement, clinical complexities, and a lack of awareness regarding Gastric Alimetry. The PPD Vantage Real-World Data Analyzer was utilized to develop a budget impact model that illustrated potential health savings by replacing multiple diagnostic tests with a single Gastric Alimetry test. The results indicated improved efficiency in patient care, reduced waiting times, and a more consistent diagnostic approach across NHS organizations. The findings are being used to support further evaluations and adoption of innovative healthcare solutions within the NHS.
