This report presents findings from research conducted by the Digital Coalition to understand public engagement with the NHS App. The research aimed to assess the accessibility and usefulness of the App, identify groups that do not use it, and explore the support needed for effective engagement. A total of 637 respondents participated in the survey, providing insights into their experiences. Key findings indicate that while many users find the App valuable, barriers such as accessibility issues, lack of skills, and confidence in using digital technology persist. Recommendations include improving awareness of the App, ensuring universal access to information, and maintaining non-digital communication options. The report emphasizes the importance of integrating patient perspectives in the development and implementation of digital health technologies, aiming to enhance patient involvement in managing their healthcare through the App. The conclusions highlight the need for NHS stakeholders to promote and support access to the App.
