This case study details the implementation of ProfitKeeper by PrimePay at Teriyaki Madness, a fast casual Asian restaurant chain, to enhance franchise health through improved data collection and financial management. Initially, only nine out of 130 franchise locations utilized ProfitKeeper, relying on a manual process for collecting monthly P&L statements, which was inefficient and prone to errors. The Assistant Controller, Misti Hunt, faced challenges in ensuring data accuracy and continuity, which hindered benchmarking efforts. The solution involved automating the monthly P&L submissions and integrating the accounting software with ProfitKeeper, leading to over 90% participation among franchisees. The automation not only saved time for administrative tasks but also provided business coaches with timely insights to assist franchisees in improving profitability. The case study highlights the positive impact of ProfitKeeper on overall profitability, particularly in Texas, where an estimated increase of 4-5% was noted. The successful adoption of the system across the majority of locations indicates its significance in future franchise operations.
