This case study details the implementation of a new ERP system at Dunlop Systems & Components, aimed at replacing their outdated legacy management system. The objective was to enhance operational efficiency by generating accurate data related to bill of materials (BOMs) and routings, while addressing issues with the existing material requirements planning (MRP) mechanism. The project was driven by the senior management team, who recognized the need for a more flexible and cost-effective solution. The new system has led to improved project management, transparency, and advanced reporting capabilities. It also streamlined inventory management through FIFO and Lot control, allowing for easy traceability of products and raw materials. The implementation has fostered a growing trust in the data provided by the new system, contrasting with the misleading information from the legacy system. Future plans include further integration of shop floor data collection and live reporting to enhance production efficiency.
