Rubber Check Valve Installation at Medellín Wastewater Plant

This technical report details the installation of a new 84-inch duckbill check valve at one of Colombia's largest wastewater treatment plants in Medellín. The facility, which has relied on rubber check valves for over 20 years, required a replacement valve to maintain operational integrity and protect the surrounding community from flooding. The new ProFlex™ Style 711 Flanged Sloped Bottom Check Valve was sourced by Proco Products in collaboration with ABC Ingeniería, ensuring compliance with specific installation requirements. The report outlines the valve's design features, including its elastomeric construction that provides superior resistance to wear, clogging, and environmental factors. It highlights the valve's maintenance-free operation and its ability to automatically open and close based on water flow, thus preventing backflow during high-water events.
