Pythian's PostgreSQL Support for Ruby Play Network

This document is a case study detailing the collaboration between Ruby Play Network and Pythian to enhance the performance and scalability of Ruby Play's PostgreSQL databases on AWS Aurora Serverless V2. Ruby Play Network, a rapidly expanding crypto and gaming development studio based in New Zealand, faced significant challenges due to increasing data volumes, which threatened their database performance, availability, and security. To address these issues, Pythian conducted a Database Security Assessment and a Database Health Check, identifying areas for optimization. The recommendations included performance enhancements, security best practices, and 24/7 monitoring strategies. By implementing these strategies, Ruby Play Network aimed to improve operational data management processes while ensuring a seamless experience for both developers and players. The partnership allowed Ruby Play Network to focus on innovation rather than performance issues, ultimately supporting their growth objectives without compromising user experience.
