This case study details the business challenge faced by Mid-Wisconsin Bank, which operates approximately 19 servers in its main office and additional servers in 13 retail locations across Wisconsin. The bank was using Symantec Backup Exec for backups but found the restoration process to be cumbersome and time-consuming. To address these issues, the bank evaluated several solutions, including Exagrid, LiveVault, D2D, and Quorum. Ultimately, the bank selected the onQ Site Recovery Appliance from Quorum due to its capability for instant recovery of critical data and applications, as well as its ease of use. The case study outlines the significant business benefits realized by the bank, including a reduction in data recovery time from over a week to less than one hour, the ability to conduct monthly testing of systems, and improved file-level restore times. The bank also plans to expand the use of onQ to protect its phone system in the future.
