This case study outlines the partnership between Southern AMC and Qventus aimed at enhancing malnutrition care through automation. The primary objectives of this collaboration were to improve patient care by automating the identification of at-risk patients and to protect revenue integrity by ensuring accurate documentation and coding of malnutrition cases. Southern AMC, which employs over 10,000 staff across four hospitals, recognized a significant opportunity to address malnutrition gaps that often go unnoticed. The implemented Qventus Malnutrition Care Automation solution integrates AI into provider EHR workflows, featuring tools such as the Condition Detection Assistant, Care Gap Assistant, Coding and Documentation Assistant, and Impact Assistant. These tools work together to identify malnourished patients, streamline care processes, and enhance documentation accuracy, ultimately leading to an annualized revenue increase of $1.4 million and improved patient outcomes. The case study emphasizes the importance of innovative solutions in healthcare delivery.
