This case study details the collaboration between Allina Health and Qventus to enhance surgical growth and optimize robotic program utilization. Allina Health, a significant nonprofit health system in the U.S., faced challenges with underutilized operating room (OR) capacity and inefficient surgical scheduling processes. The partnership aimed to maximize the use of surgical resources by implementing the Qventus Surgical Growth Solution, which leverages AI and machine learning to improve OR scheduling. Key features of the solution include TimeFinder, Block Release, Available Time Outreach, and da Vinci Optimizer. These tools facilitate proactive engagement with surgeons and schedulers, allowing for better management of surgical time and increased operational efficiency. The implementation resulted in significant improvements, including the addition of robotic cases and a substantial return on investment. Within three months of rollout, Allina Health saved 132 hours of OR capacity and engaged 130 surgeons in the new scheduling process, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Qventus solution in addressing their surgical growth objectives.
